Corporate
Our corporate work supports members in effective engagement, stewardship and active ownership of investments across listed equity and corporate bonds.

We help investors conduct well-informed engagements with corporates to secure credible and ambitious decarbonisation plans. Our aim is for corporates to increase the integration of climate-related risks and opportunities into their strategies to reduce real-world emissions and help investors achieve climate-aligned portfolios.
We help our members to:

Ensure consistent and clear requests are being directed at corporates, giving them a platform to discuss high-level engagement strategies and share best practice

Address climate-related risks in their portfolios and achieve net zero ambitions through effective stewardship
To achieve this, we focus on three pillars:
Engagement platform
Support for the corporate engagement initiatives that IIGCC has developed and plays a leading role in, aiming to encourage comprehensive commitments and implementation plans from a critical mass of investor portfolio companies. Initiatives include Climate Action 100+, the Net Zero Engagement Initiative, banks engagement and Nature Action 100, as well as work on themes including lobby and climate accounting.
Transition research
Detailed and credible frameworks and guidance to establish transition plan best practice. We work at a broad sector neutral level and also focus on specific high impact sectors including oil and gas, utilities, mining, autos and materials. Once guidance has been developed we focus on its usability to support engagements with relevant companies and drive adoption by investors, companies and the wider ecosystem.
Stewardship research
Resources to support a critical mass of our members in upskilling and strengthening their climate stewardship activities. It is delivered via the provision of key tools including the Net Zero Stewardship Toolkit and guidance to support stewardship and voting activities, including the use of proxy advisors.
