In advance of Climate COP31 and Nature COP17, IIGCC is pleased join Federated Hermes at The Natural History Museum on Wednesday, 7th October for a drinks reception and a private viewing of the 'Fixing Our Broken Planet' gallery, located within the Darwin Centre. The evening will commence with opening remarks from Saker Nusseibeh, CBE, before moving on to networking with peers, accompanied by live music, drinks and canapes.

Quantifying nature-related risk: Methods and insights

This session, co-organised by IIGCC, will explore emerging approaches for quantifying nature-related physical, transition and systemic risks, drawing on practical experience from organisations and the latest research across the market. 

Building on the TNFD’s LEAP approach and metrics architecture, the discussion will examine how tools and approaches developed by a range of organisations, including the Earth Capital Nexus, TNFD and others, are helping organisations translate dependencies, impacts and ecosystem change into financial risk signals, and how investors are using nature risk disclosures for their own analysis and decision-making. Adam Stein, Corporate Programme Manager at IIGCC, will be moderating a panel at this event.

This session explores how capital markets can help scale private finance for nature, with a focus on Target 19 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Participants will learn about key nature bond instruments and guidance, before hearing a real-world case study from a financial institution on issuing a nature bond.

The session concludes with an interactive discussion featuring Peter Walker, Nature Programme Manager at IIGCC, alongside representatives from government and financial institutions, including Amundi, reflecting on lessons learned and the potential for nature bonds across different markets and contexts.

Nature Action 100 Company Benchmark 2026: Tracking Corporate Progress on Nature

The Nature Action 100 Secretariat, Storebrand AM, and Church Commissioners of England are co-hosting a session that will bring together investors and other stakeholders to discuss the key findings of the second Nature Action 100 Company Benchmark assessment. The session will examine progress made by companies on nature-related commitments and stewardship expectations, as well as the challenges that remain in translating ambition into implementation. Opening remarks will be given by Astrid Schomaker, Executive Secretary, Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
