The role
We are looking for a communications professional with established media relations experience and strong judgement, ideally with experience in climate change, investment, financial services or public policy. This is a primarily media-focused role, combining day-to-day responsibility for media relations with wider communications support across the team. You will work independently on routine activity, with strategic guidance from senior colleagues on priority issues. The role would suit someone with strong media contacts in the UK and ideally the EU, and the confidence to take proactive decisions without needing constant direction. You will need to identify reputational risks and opportunities, manage reactive issues, and help shape clear messaging and narratives across a range of communications outputs. Importantly, the role requires someone who can think about reputation management more broadly than media relations alone.
You will work across IIGCC programmes activity, support members on media relations, and collaborate with colleagues and external partners on joint initiatives. The role will also support the profile and reputation of major global initiatives and contribute to a range of communications activity including briefings, messaging, content, digital, events and other team outputs.
Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Communications, you will be part of an established communications and membership team of 10+.
