The role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Programme Officer to support the delivery of key initiatives within our Investor Strategies programme. The role sits at the intersection of climate, investment strategy and real-world implementation, supporting work that helps institutional investors integrate climate-related risks and opportunities into investment decision-making, governance, portfolio strategy and stewardship practices.
Investors Strategies team works closely with global investors and industry stakeholders to develop practical frameworks, investor guidance and peer-learning initiatives that support the transition to a net zero and climate-resilient economy. Current areas of work include strategic asset allocation, investment governance, implementation of net zero commitments, emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs), just transition, and climate resilience.
More broadly, our work is delivered across three programme areas - corporate, investor strategies and policy - and covers a range of important topics, including net zero, adaptation and resilience, and nature. Our work and expertise can help inform investors as they navigate their individual path towards a decarbonised global economy and respond to the realities of a changing climate.
This role would particularly suit candidates interested in how institutional investors make decisions, manage long-term risks and opportunities, and translate sustainability objectives into investment practice. The successful candidate will gain exposure to investor collaboration, investment frameworks, and implementation challenges across a range of climate and investment-related topics.
You will be responsible for supporting and coordinating a number of investor and industry-wide initiatives to help the successful adoption and application of the Net Zero Investment and Climate Resilience Frameworks across our key initiatives and implementation efforts of members’ net zero commitments. Through this role you will have regular contact with senior figures from investors as well as with our wider stakeholders, including policymakers, civil society and businesses.
While this role is initially offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, we hope that the contract can be extended, subject to resources.
