Events Officer

The Role

We are looking for a self-motivated event professional with experience of end-to-end event organisation.

We run 4 flagship events and a further 80 smaller online or in-person events each year. Our events are a valued benefit of IIGCC membership.

You will work closely with the Senior Events Manager and colleagues from the wider organisation to support in the development and delivery of a range of online, in-person and hybrid events. You’ll also help coordinate our presence at key industry events.

You will be joining a team of experienced communications professionals and working alongside established industry experts in corporate engagement, investor strategies and policy advocacy, with the potential to contribute towards driving real progress towards a net zero and climate resilient future.

There may be a requirement to undertake some international travel and a possibility of out hours working during peak periods.

While this role is initially offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, we hope that the contract can be extended.

Main responsibilities

Event organisation

  • Support the Senior Events Manager with delivery of our flagship hybrid events
  • Support the end-to-end delivery of online events, particularly webinars hosted on Zoom.
  • Support with establishing and delivering our event marketing partnerships. This will involve developing our existing relationships with event organisers.
  • Maintain and update the internal events calendar (via Monday.com) to support organisational planning.
  • Support with securing speaking opportunities for the wider team
  • Provide pre-event support to attendees and ensure smooth on-the-day delivery.

Asset creation and branding

  • Oversee the creation and review of branded event materials, utilising and coordinating freelance and agency designers.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure design requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Track and manage approval processes, including legal sign-off where required.

Comms and Digital

  • Create and manage event registration pages on Eventbrite and Zoom.
  • Build and maintain event webpages and email communications using HubSpot including our monthly event newsletter.
  • Work with the communications team to ensure our events are promoted in the weekly newsletter and via our social media channel.

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience of supporting with the delivery of online and in-person events
  • Excellent organisational skills, time management with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to learn and follow processes and procedures
  • Proactive approach to achieving successful delivery of results
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • A motivated and proactive self-starter, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a strong work ethic, and approachable manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent command of the English language (both spoken and written)
  • Familiarity with Zoom for virtual meetings and events
  • Familiarity with email and website platforms like Hubspot
  • Familiarity with ticketing platforms like Eventbrite
  • Familiarity with project planning platforms like Monday.com
  • A genuine interest in climate change and sustainability issues.

Desirable

  • Other European languages.
