Content and Communications Manager

The Role

We are looking for a Content and Communications Manager with a can-do attitude and sectoral experience in the investment industry and/or climate change. Our content is one of the most important outputs we produce as an organisation. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering it. 

This interesting and varied role provides an opportunity to help shape and communicate the latest ideas and developments relating to institutional investors and climate change.  

The role would suit a communications professional with experience of writing and developing varied content to help communicate complex issues with impact. You must be able to take technical materials and produce engaging content primarily for our members – this includes Insights and visual assets, such as infographics.  

You will work with a wide variety of experts across our three programmes – Policy, Corporate and Investor Strategies – to help promote our latest work, particularly our products (frameworks, tools, guidance, discussion papers, etc.). This will require excellent stakeholder and project management.  

The candidate will need to be a strong team player. You will play an integral role in delivering IIGCC’s overall communications strategy collaborating with the rest of an established communications and membership team of 10. While your focus will be content, you will get exposure to a range of communications disciplines, including media relations, digital and events.  

Overall, your work will contribute towards the latest developments in the intersection between investors and climate change.  

While this role is initially offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months, we hope that the contract can be extended, depending on resources. 

Main responsibilities 

Content creation  

  • Develop and implement content campaigns to promote strategic workstreams, thematics and resources. For example, adaptation and resilience (thematic), NZIF, policy consultations and The Engage Series (resources).  
  • Oversee development of visual assets, including infographics and graphics, that can be used across channels and different content types.    
  • Write, edit and proofread high-quality thought pieces for our Insight series.  
  • Support delivery of strategically important documents, including annual report and funder impact report.  
  • Ensure brand consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all content.  
  • Keep up to date with latest content tools, trends and best practice, including use of AI.  
  • Track and analyse content performance, making recommendations for optimisation and continued improvements.   

Communications  

  • Play key day-to-day role developing and implementing communications plans to support the launch of core IIGCC products.  
  • Develop narrative, key messaging and common language to use across content and campaigns.   
  • Support the production and delivery of a variety of communications activities, including media relations, digital and events.   

Stakeholder and project management  

  • Work across all IIGCC programme activities coordinating and managing multiple stakeholders across different levels of seniority to deliver key communications outputs. 
  • Work collaboratively with the wider communications team to help deliver IIGCC’s overall communications strategy.  
  • Uphold product development processes and ensure established document formats are followed.  

 

Experience and skills  

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to distil technical topics into clear and concise copy.  
  • Content creation experience. A self-motivated individual with the ability to produce content quickly, on a regular basis and with impact. 
  • Understanding of and experience in communications (can be one or a more of disciplines including media relations, events, digital, design, internal communications, etc.) 
  • Analytical skills to assess content performance and an ability to make and implement recommendations for optimisation.  
  • Sectoral experience from investment or financial services industry and/or climate change.  
  • Skilled in overseeing the development of visual assets, including infographics and graphics. This includes briefing and project managing third party designers. Knowledge of tools, such as Canva, is beneficial.     
  • Team player and ability to work collaboratively and quickly build strong professional relationships.  
  • Project management of content development and the ability to uphold established organisational processes and guidelines.  
  • Excellent command of the English language (both spoken and written). Other European languages desirable, but not required.   
  • Fluent in routine IT tools including Microsoft Office. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, tight deadlines and deliver to a high quality, at pace.
