IIGCC, Climate Group and CLG Group Europe have sent a letter to key Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), emphasising the importance of decarbonising the buildings sector to help achieve the EU’s climate and energy goals. It was sent ahead of a European Parliament Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee vote on 9 February.

The letter was signed by key European and international business associations, and investor and corporate networks. It emphasises to the Members of the European Parliament that the EU’s economic actors are ready to implement an ambitious and robust legislation that can deliver improvements to the lives of millions of inhabitants in Europe, support energy security, help achieve the EU’s climate and energy ambitions, and boost the EU’s skilled green jobs.

The open letter builds upon IIGCC letters sent earlier this year to Member State Leaders and Ministers, Commission Executive Vice President Timmermans on the wider Fit for 55 package, and to key Members of the European Parliament.
