Join us for our second IIGCC Summit on Monday 23 June 2025, sponsored by Clarity AI and Morningstar, and featuring a special virtual keynote from Al Gore, former US Vice President and a founding partner of Generation Investment Management. 

Kickstart your London Climate Action Week with IIGCC. The Summit will showcase investor action towards financing the transition in a changing world. Come and join us as we dissect key issues and topics including capital mobilisation to support the transition, adaptation and resilience, and deforestation.  

Curated to be practical and informative, the morning will see 10 workshops exclusively for IIGCC members, including an in-depth focus on emerging markets, sponsored by Ninety One, and another on the potential of AI presented in collaboration with Clarity AI.  

After lunch, the afternoon will feature panel discussions on building the case for adaptation and resilience, as well as a deep dive on capital mobilisation to support the transition. This will be followed by a special virtual keynote from Al Gore, before we end the day with a drinks reception.

Expect to hear new developments, including the next iteration of the  Physical Climate Risk Appraisal Methodology 2.0 (PCRAM) and the Climate Resilience Investment Framework (CRIF).   

Join us at the IIGCC Summit as we set the scene for what’s likely to be the biggest London Climate Action Week yet.

  1. Resilience in action: Investor case studies and the Physical Climate Risk Appraisal Methodology 2.0

    Location: Worcester Room, 1st Floor

    A practical workshop showcasing new investor case studies of the Physical Climate Risk Appraisal Methodology 2.0 (PCRAM) in action. We will outline the appraisal process for decision-making and set out how PCRAM aligns with the Climate Resilience Investment Framework.

  2. Climate solutions in action: From concept to implementation

    Location: Harvey Room, 3rd Floor

    An interactive workshop where participants will learn about concrete steps they can consider to scale investment in climate solutions across all asset classes, as well as shape upcoming guidance for real assets. Starting with the updated climate solutions NZIF supplementary guidance, the session will move from concept to implementation. 

    Attendees can choose from one of two breakout sessions: 

    • Real estate climate solution guidance 
    • Infrastructure climate solution guidance (with a focus on grids) 

  3. Financing the Emerging Market transition and supporting a just transition– sponsored by Ninety One

    Location: Anderson Barnes Suite, Ground Floor

    A joint IIGCC-Ninety One workshop focusing on practical examples of implementing Net Zero Investment Framework recommendations in an Emerging Markets context. 

  4. Integrating food production into climate plans

    Location: Murrell Room, Ground Floor

    A workshop setting out investors’ portfolio exposure to food production and the associated material risks, physical and transitional. Hosted by climate scientist, Dr Sam Cornish, the session will explore the transition in food production and its role in managing climate and nature risks. 

  5. Data: Evolving needs and the next IIGCC Data Vendor Catalogue

     

    Location: Princes Room, 1st Floor

    This workshop will gather feedback on practical use cases, data priorities, delivery formats, and licensing models to help shape the next phase of the IIGCC Data Vendor Catalogue. Members tell us that the first edition has become a highly valued resource to help them assess third parties.

  5. Leveraging AI to support climate goals: Current trends and where next?

    Presented in collaboration with Clarity AI, this exploratory and interactive workshop will explore the latest conversations about AI and how it could be harnessed by investors to support their climate goals.

Al Gore

Former Vice President

Former Vice President Al Gore is the founder and chairman of The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit devoted to solving the climate crisis, a founding partner and chairman of Generation Investment Management, and a co-founder of Climate TRACE. He is also a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a member of the World Economic Forum’s board of trustees, and a past member of the board of directors at Apple.

Gore was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976, 1978, 1980, and 1982 and to the U.S. Senate in 1984 and 1990. He was inaugurated as the 45th vice president of the United States on January 20, 1993, and served eight years.

He is the author of the #1 New York Times best-sellers An Inconvenient Truth and The Assault on Reason and the NYT best-sellers Earth in the BalanceOur Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate CrisisThe Future: Six Drivers of Global Change, and most recently, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.

He is the subject of the documentary movie “An Inconvenient Truth,” which won two Oscars in 2006 — and a second documentary in 2017, “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.” In 2007, Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, for “informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change.” Gore is a native Tennessean who currently resides on his farm in Carthage, Tennessee.

 

Tim Gould

Chief Energy Economist International Energy Agency

Tim Gould was appointed the Agency's Chief Energy Economist in 2021. As
Chief Energy Economist, he provides strategic advice on energy economics
across a wide range of IEA activities and analysis. Mr Gould is also Head of the
Office of the Chief Energy Economist, in which capacity he co-leads the World
Energy Outlook, the IEA's flagship publication series, and oversees the Agency's
work on investment and finance, including the World Energy Investment report.


Mr Gould joined the IEA in 2008, initially as a specialist on Russian and Caspian
energy, and in recent years has designed and directed a wide range of IEA
analytical outputs, while continuing to contribute also as an author. Prior to
joining the IEA, Mr Gould worked on European and Eurasian energy issues in
Brussels and has ten years of experience in Eastern Europe, primarily in Ukraine.


He graduated from Oxford University and has a post-graduate diploma from the
School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University.

Hortense Bioy

Head of Sustainable Investing Research Morningstar Sustainalytics

Hortense Bioy, CFA, is Head of Sustainable Investing Research at Morningstar Sustainalytics.

 

Based in London, Hortense leads Morningstar Sustainalytics’ ESG investing research efforts globally, with the objective of educating investors and providing them with the tools they need to evaluate investments through an ESG lens. Prior to assuming this role in May 2024, she was global director of sustainability research within Morningstar Manager Research. Before transitioning to a dedicated ESG focus in 2017, Bioy was European director of passive strategies research. She led an award-winning team that provides research on exchange-traded funds and index funds. Bioy joined Morningstar as an ETF analyst in 2010 from Bloomberg, where she was a financial journalist.

Hortense holds a master’s degree in finance from Paris Dauphine University and a postgraduate degree in finance from Paris Sorbonne University. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

 

Dr James Richardson

Director of Analysis, Climate Change Committee

Dr James Richardson has been Director of Analysis at the Climate Change Committee since July 2023.

From 2016 to July 2023, he was Chief Economist at the National Infrastructure Commission, where he led on production of the UK’s first ever National Infrastructure Assessment, an in-depth assessment of the UK’s major infrastructure needs on a 30-year time horizon. He led net zero related work for the Commission’s second National Infrastructure Assessment, due to be published 18 October 2023.

Prior to this, James was Director, Fiscal and Deputy Chief Economic Adviser at HM Treasury from July 2012 to March 2016 and Director, Public Spending and Chief Microeconomist at HM Treasury from September 2008 to July 2012.

 

Stephanie Pfeifer

CEO, IIGCC

Stephanie has led IIGCC since 2005 and overseen its expansion into a European-focused investor group. She sits on the Steering Committees for Climate Action 100+, the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative and the Investor Agenda, as well as the Executive Committee for the Paris Aligned Asset Owners.

Prior to her role at IIGCC, Stephanie worked in investment banking for over seven years, including as a senior economist at Morgan Grenfell and a VP at Deutsche Bank in London. She holds an MSc with distinction in Environmental Studies, a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MA in Economics from Exeter University. Stephanie received an OBE for her services to climate finance in Her Majesty the Queen's Jubilee Birthday Honours List in 2022.

Thomas Van Rompaey

Global Responsible Investment Manager, AXA Investment Managers

Thomas Van Rompaey is a Global Responsible Investment Manager at AXA Investment Managers (Alts), covering the real estate equity and debt portfolios across Europe, Japan, the US, and Australia. In his role he works with local ESG leads within Asset Management but also several other departments such as development, transactions and fund management.

Previously, Thomas served as a Senior Associate within the Global RI team and as ESG Lead for Benelux and Germany. In this role, he led successful initiatives related to the digitization of data, renewable deployment, and strategic guidelines for Asset Management & Development teams.

Thomas's extensive experience also includes serving as the Real Estate MRV Track Lead at the UN Net Zero Asset Owner’s Alliance. In this capacity, he worked on the fourth version of the Target Setting Protocol, completely phasing in the real estate sector and contributed to the CRREM Global Scientific & Investor Committee and other industry associations.

Additionally, Thomas is co lead of the IIGCC Adaption and Resilience Working Group, which focuses on providing dedicated guidance for the real estate sector ranging from Physical Climate risk assessment to mitigation and adaptions strategies.

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Nursing, a Bachelor of International Business Management (Double degree from FHNW University of Business & KdG), a Master in Finance from Antwerp Management School and the Certified ESG Analyst from EFFAS

Aleksandra (Sasha) Njagulj

Managing Director, Global Head of Sustainability, Real Estate at DWS group

Aleksandra (Sasha) Njagulj is the Managing Director, Global Head of Sustainability, Real Estate at DWS group. She is responsible for ESG integration across global real estate portfolios. Sasha is an accomplished ESG expert with over 20 years of practical experience in architectural design, design management, and the sustainable real assets investment. In her previous role with CBRE Global Investors, she was Global Head of ESG with overall responsibility for developing and communicating global sustainability priorities and strategies across all business lines. Prior to this, Sasha was head of the Sustainability, R&D and Innovation department at Bouygues U.K.​

Throughout her career, Sasha has built a reputation both professionally and personally for championing the cause of responsible real estate investment. She received the UK-based edie 2020 Sustainability Leaders Award for Investor of the Year for an ESG programme she designed and delivered for CBRE. In addition, Sasha was awarded the global 2020 GRESB/BREEAM Individual Leadership Award, recognising strong leadership and commitment in the field of sustainable development. In 2021, she won the global Future Proof Real Estate Woman award as a leader in applying digitalisation, technology, open innovation and sustainability to create a better built environment. In 2024, she was awarded EUBIN/MIPIM ESG Leadership Award as the best corporate ESG personality.​

A qualified architect, Sasha holds a Master's degree in Architectural Design from the University of Belgrade; a Master's degree in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. She chairs the GRESB Foundation Real Estate Standards Committee, co-chairs IIGCC Adaptation and Resilience Working Group, is a BRE Academy fellow, and serves on IIGCC Investor Practices Advisory Group

 

Will Ballard

Head of Equities, Border to Coast

Will leads Border to Coast’s equity investment team. He joined the LGPS pool in 2022 and has 24 years’ investment experience, having previously worked for Aviva Investors where he was Head of Emerging Market Equities. Prior to joining Aviva in 2009, Will worked at the Royal Bank of Canada and Henderson Global Investors. He is a CFA Charter holder and a Cambridge University graduate.

Mahesh Roy

Investor Strategies Programme Director, IIGCC

Mahesh leads the investor strategies team at IIGCC. He is also the UNFCCC's Marrakech Partnership focal point for finance, linking non-state actors in finance with parties to the convention. Prior to joining IIGCC in 2022 he led the capital markets team at CDP, following an 18-year career in banking and finance, predominantly at Macquarie Group where he led specialist teams in financial services and healthcare. He holds an MBA, Energy from Cranfield University.

Peter Taylor

Corporate Programme Director, IIGCC

Peter leads our corporate team, supporting investor engagements with companies through initiatives including Climate Action 100+, the Net Zero Engagement Initiative and Nature Action 100. He previously worked as a senior portfolio manager and Head of Corporate Governance at Aberdeen Asset Management in Singapore, London and São Paolo. Peter began his career at the International Finance Corporation and more recently has advised European development finance institutions on climate governance. He holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MA from John Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.

Emily Murrell

Policy Director
Emily leads the policy team, which covers UK, European and international policy issues. She has over a decade’s experience working on climate policy and climate finance in the World Bank Group, at HSBC and in the UK Civil Service. Emily was a senior policy advisor in the UK Cabinet Office and in the former UK Department of Energy and Climate Change, including experience as a climate negotiator at UN COP summits. Emily has a BSc in Social Policy with Government from London School of Economics and an MA in EU International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe in Belgium.
