Programme Officer, Climate Frameworks
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and bright individual to support the climate frameworks team in moving forward the climate finance agenda. Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager and working very closely with the specialist team, you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the leading climate change frameworks for investors. You will have regular contact with investors as well as with our wider stakeholders including policymakers, civil society and businesses.
IIGCC is a small but rapidly growing organisation – you’ll be working with passionate, personable and like-minded colleagues, each of whom is a leader in their areas.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist on the various pieces of work relating to the development of Investor Practices team’s climate frameworks - the Net Zero, Climate Solutions and Climate Solutions Frameworks.
- Assist Senior Programme Manager in developing current and new formal and supplementary guidance for these frameworks
- Support internal cross programme technical committees
- Work with specialists and programme managers to gain an understanding of investor needs relating to guidance on climate strategies
- Provide data driven analysis to support technical development and improvement of frameworks
- Monitor and report on the outputs and impact of IIGCC’s frameworks to assist with the IIGCC development team
- Coordinate IIGCC working groups and webinar logistics, agendas and write-ups working with other IIGCC investor practices programme staff.
- Collaborate with other IIGCC initiatives as required.
Skills and Capabilities
- Experience of working on issues relating to climate change, investment or ESG.
- Familiarity with technical issues including scenario analysis, assessing climate risk and impact, emissions accounting; familiarity with ESG data collection and analysis is an advantage.
- Strong project management, coordination and organisational skills, with proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and prioritise
- Enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong communication skills, verbal and in writing
- Ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivated, flexible and disciplined
- Enthusiastic and positive approach
- Fluent in routine IT tool including Word and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English language; other European languages an advantage but not essential
