Communications Manager (climate change / investor focus)
The Role
We are looking for a motivated and proactive communications manager, with experience in climate change, ESG, investment or sustainability. The role focuses on content creation, digital communications and issues management. This would therefore suit a communications all-rounder, able to hit the ground running.
This position will serve the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative at a global level (working with all six network partners). The successful candidate will be hosted by IIGCC and report into IIGCC’s Senior Communications Manager, who is also a Co-Chair of the NZAM Communications Working Group (CWG). The CWG is made up of a communications lead from each of the six network partners that form the initiative. The CWG is one of a number of working groups that support the global co-ordination of the initiative.
The appointed candidate will work closely with communications professionals and other staff from across the six investor networks, which means some evening calls will be required.
About the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative
The Net Zero Asset Managers (NZAM) initiative is a group of international asset managers committed to supporting the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner, in line with global efforts to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius; and to supporting investing aligned with net zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.
Launched in December 2020, it aims to mobilise action by the asset management industry that demonstrates leading practice in driving the transition to net zero and delivers the ambitious action and investment strategies that will be necessary to achieve the goal of net zero emissions. It also provides a forum to share best practice and overcome barriers to aligning investments to that net zero goal.
The initiative is managed globally by six investor networks (all founding partners of the initiative), namely: Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC), CDP, Ceres, Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC), Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) and Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
