Letter to the UK Prime Minister – UK Net Zero Financial Sector

23.04.21

IIGCC and a number of IIGCC members supported a letter asking the Prime Minister to commit to a net zero UK financial sector ahead of the G7 in June.

The letter recommends the UK government take note of the recommendations of the Advisory Group on Finance for the UK Climate Change Committee (CCC), which advised the government to “commit to be the world’s first net-zero financial system”. The letter states that the financial sector cannot get to net zero on its own without the appropriate enabling environment, especially public policy facilitating the real economy net zero transition, as well as policy incentives for green finance.

The letter is available to download below.
