IIGCC response to BEIS consultation on Audit and Corporate Governance

The UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) published a consultation on Restoring Trust in Audit and Corporate Governance on 18 March 2021. The proposals seek to strengthen the UK’s framework for major companies and the way they are audited.

In a letter responding to the consultation, IIGCC highlights how capacity building will be required to build the knowledge base of the audit profession and ensure a high quality of assurance and audit of climate-related disclosures. In this regard, IIGCC has prepared a number of materials that could be useful, outlined in the letter.
