IIGCC Real Estate Roundtable: Measuring and managing whole life carbon (part 2)

On 22nd October, IIGCC hosted the latest in its series of roundtables highlighting key developments for investors.
The second of our roundtables focusing on whole life cycle carbon assessments, the session brought together industry experts and investors to discuss best practice for measuring and managing whole life carbon emissions, with a particular focus on embodied carbon. We heard from the World Business Council on Sustainable Development on their Building System Carbon framework, the Building Better Partnership on their climate commitment and embodied carbon, alongside LGIM Real Assets on how they are measuring and managing whole life carbon emissions in their portfolio. This was followed by a short update from GRESB on their 2023 Standard and the inclusion of measuring embodied carbon, and a panel discussion moderated by Peter Sweatman of Climate Strategy & Partners.
