Addressing physical climate risks: key steps for asset owners and asset managers
27.05.20
Many asset owners recognise climate change as one of the largest systemic risks to their investment portfolios. To date, however, relatively little attention has been paid to how institutional investors might assess and report on the physical risks and opportunities arising from climate change.
IIGCC has therefore published guidance for investors. This includes a short practical focused guidance, Addressing Physical Climate Risks: Key Steps for Asset Owners and Asset Managers, covering five steps for investors to take in starting to identify, assess, monitoring and manage physical climate risk.
This is then supplemented by more comprehensive guidance on the issue for investors, putting the issue in context, and providing a broader range of frameworks and resources for investors. Also see the press release here on the launch of the guidance.
