06.06.22

IIGCC is delighted to share that our CEO, Stephanie Pfeifer, has received an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for her services to climate finance in Her Majesty the Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours List.

The Honours List marks the public service of individuals across the UK in celebration of Her Majesty’s 70 years of service, with recipients awarded for their outstanding contributions across all sectors, but in particular for sustained public service, the environment and sustainability, and youth engagement.

Stephanie joined IIGCC in 2005 as its first full time employee and has overseen its growth from a small collaboration of asset managers and pension funds to the leading European membership body enabling the investor community to drive significant and real progress towards a net zero future.

IIGCC today has more than 350 members, representing over €51 trillion in assets, who are in a powerful position to catalyse real world change through their capital allocation decisions, stewardship and engagement with companies and the wider market, as well as through their policy advocacy. It has played an integral role in mobilising net zero commitments from more than 300 investors via the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative and Paris Aligned Asset Owners group, as well as driving engagement with corporates through Climate Action 100+ and policymakers via the Investor Agenda.

Commenting on the award, Stephanie Pfeifer, CEO at IIGCC said:I am truly honoured to have received an OBE for my services to climate finance. It is representative of the tremendous amount of progress that we have made over the last two decades when it comes to considering the impact of climate risk on investments, and the role that finance can play as a force for driving much-needed change.”

“This progress has not come without a huge amount of work from the IIGCC team, both past and present, and importantly, the incredible contribution of our members – a number of whom have been with us on this journey for even longer than I have. IIGCC was born out of an investor desire for collaboration, and it is that very collaboration that has allowed us to achieve so many of the milestones that this award recognises. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our success to date, I look forward to working with you all as we continue to drive towards a net zero future.”
