Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) appoints Gerald Cartigny as Vice Chair
IIGCC is today announcing that Gerald Cartigny, Chief Investment Officer of MN, has replaced Philippe Desfossés as Vice Chair of the organisation. Gerald takes on the role following a period of strong growth for IIGCC as the European forum for investor collaboration on climate change. MN is a Dutch pension administration organisation and institutional asset manager, responsible for $150 billion in assets on behalf of clients.
Stephanie Pfeifer, CEO, IIGCC, explains: “We’re delighted that Gerald is stepping into the role of Vice Chair at such an important time for both IIGCC and the broader investor agenda on climate change. He understands the significance of ensuring investors demonstrate the leadership required in driving the transition to a more sustainable future. As Vice Chair, Gerald will be a true champion of this agenda and will help us build on the necessary transformation in thinking and investment practice we’re beginning to see emerge across the investment sector.”
Gerald takes over from Philippe Desfossés, who stepped down as Vice Chair following his departure as CEO of ERAFP.
Gerald Cartigny, Vice Chair, IIGCC, and CIO, MN, adds: “It’s a privilege to be able to build on the crucial contribution Philippe made in his time as Vice Chair. The case for taking responsible investment practice mainstream in the face of climate change couldn’t be clearer. Working together with IIGCC’s 170 members, I look forward to helping ensure the sector fully embraces the opportunity.”
As well as Philippe Desfossés, Vicki Bakhshi, Director, Governance & Sustainable Investing at BMO Global Asset Management, has stepped down from IIGCC’s board. IIGCC would like to extend its thanks for the valuable and much appreciated contribution both individuals have made to its work.
