To improve investor practices, corporate actions and international policy responses to climate change, IIGCC works collaboratively with three other regional investor networks - AIGCC (Asia), Ceres (North America) and IGCC (Australia) - as part of the Global Investor Coalition on Climate Change, a joint initiative that represents investors on climate change and the transition to a low carbon economy.
By 2020, the Global Investor Coalition on Climate Change aims to drive action in the following areas:
• Policy: implementation of effective policies and regulations to achieve the Paris Agreement’s goals
• Investment: transformation of investment practices to address climate risks, opportunities and re-allocation of capital to the low carbon economy
• Corporate: acceleration of corporate action, accountability and disclosure on climate change risks and opportunities.
GIC members also collaborate with CDP, PRI and UNEP FI to co-sponsor the Investor Platform For Climate Actions and joint international policy initiatives or events in key fora such as the UNFCCC.
